This is the worst I have ever been treated by any employer.
Now if I or my kids ever need emergency care, I wouldn't go to or support this hospital if the paid me, which they wouldn't, because of the stuck up, greedy, miserable old men in charge who clearly have no concepts of reality or the population they are said to " serve ".
I was told their was opportunity to become more than per diem.
Imagine going to a hospital where they treat you like a person who matters, and not like you are on an assembly line. Really caring professional people.
They hired me to work in the kitchen, with full disclosure of my tattoos. The old geezer vice president waltzed into the kitchen early one morning, and glared at me as if I were the most disgusting piece of trash he had ever seen. My next shift the supervisors ( who never did anything but sit on their fat buts all day in the office) had a meeting where they went over the dress code "policy", and now suddenly required me to cover all tattoos while working. In a hot kitchen and doing dishes. This would now require me to wear long sleeves, and mittens, instead of the scrub top i was given and told was the uniform. Not possible.
I own a home and property in this town.
I am a 39 year old single mother.
I went in for a routine day surgery procedure a month or so ago and the experience turned from scary to almost pleasant (if you could call any surgery pleasant). The surgical nurses were extremely attentive and helped to alleviate my worries. The surgeon was wonderful and caring. No problems whatsoever. Everything looked very clean and everyone was extremely professional! Great hospital!
This form of discrimination is not recognized by Maine state law which is a shame.
Additionally, they promised me at least 30 hours a week which I was never given once trained except for when someone was on vacation.
There wasn't.
I was forced out.
The facilities nurse didn't provide me with proper respect and care. Understanding is knowing, if you lose your patients to other facilities you lose the funding you need to exist. And your existence is solely based on providing proper services. Also, this facilities tends to discuss all your personal info. with others in and outside the realms of confidentiality. I guess you don't have much options when you live in a small town. But I would recommend driving into the city and go to a hospital more well versed and knowledgeable. A small clinic like this lacks proper funding to be as efficient as their city affiliates. Lesson Learned!
